Peru, a prestigious stop in the heart of Arequipa

In the heart of the colonial era city of Arequipa, capital of the region of Peru, from this summer tourists interested in local history and in search of high quality travel experiences will be able to rely on the new parador Cirqa, of the same property as the award-winning Titilaka lodge.

It was Ignacio Masìas, one of the greatest personalities in the high-level hotel industry in the South American country, who started the project that allowed the structure to be built, & nbsp; in fact, the first real luxury hotel in Arequipa.

The term "parador" derives from "parada", a refreshment point in which in the past horses were made to rest and food and accommodation were found for the night. The sacristy of the Church of St. Augustine of Arequipa also performed this function. The modern renovation has recreated its adventurous and, at times, poetic atmosphere of the time that fled away, transforming the Parador Cirqa into an exhilarating travel experience.

Originally built in 1540, the year in which Arequipa itself was founded, the building underwent a final major architectural intervention in 1883. Today the structure has the character of the Arequipeña tradition, with massive walls, arches and columns in white volcanic stone.

Inside there are 11 rooms furnished with an elegant mix of period furniture and design, with extreme attention to detail and raw materials. The parador has a small swimming pool in one of the two cloisters and a mini-spa. On the terrace there is also an exclusive restaurant with 5 tables and 20 seats, also open to the external public. It offers typical recipes of the local "picanterias" reworked in a gourmet key.

This is the unmistakable style of Titilaka, the most exclusive hotel on the shores of Lake Titicaca, considered among the 20 best hotels in the world according to CN Traveler 2017, or Atemporal in Lima, capital of Peru, signed by Masìas himself.

Proposals: stay in a double room starting from € 370 per night a & nbsp; half board or from € 975 "fully inclusive" (including meals, drinks, transfers, excursions and daily activities).
